Protest Set To Take Place in Miami After 110-years Prison Sentence Of Cuban Truck Driver, Rogel Aguilera-Mederos

People across the country are reacting to Rogel Aguilera-Mederos’s case with a protest set to take place in Miami on Saturday, December 18th at 2 p.m.

On Thursday, Dec. 16. Aguilera-Mederos was sentenced to 110 years in prison for his involvement in the devastating truck crash on Interstate 70 that killed four people back in 2019.

A protest is set to take place in Miami’s Krome Avenue and Southwest Eighth Street, as reported by Telemundo 51. This coincides at the same time and location as the organized caravan that Cuban-American social media influencer and political activist, Alexander Otaola created in protest of the Biden administration.

Other means of protesting have taken place in states such as Colorado – where the accident occurred – with videos on social media using the hashtag ‘#JusticeforRogel,’ while showing several truckers standing in solidarity with Aguilera-Mederos and refusing to drive through Colorado, as well as parking on the side of the highways until justice is served.

This story is still developing and will be following for any updates.
